Potholes fixed so they stay fixed.
Permanent pothole repair that cuts out the failed pavement, rebuilds the base and places hot-mix asphalt, rather than a quick fill that pops out again.
- Method: Saw-cut, remove, rebuild base, hot-mix
- Quick response: Fast scheduling for hazards
- Materials: Hot-mix where weather allows

What it is, and why it matters.
A pothole forms when water gets under the asphalt, softens the base and traffic breaks the surface apart. Dumping cold patch in the hole hides it for a few weeks. A lasting repair cuts square edges around the failed area, removes the wet or loose material, rebuilds the base, tacks the edges and places hot-mix asphalt that is compacted flush with the surface.
Across Nashville and Tennessee the freeze-thaw swings of winter and the heavy rains of spring create potholes in lots, streets and driveways. We repair them quickly, and when we find a pattern, such as several holes in a drainage path, we explain the underlying cause so you can fix it instead of repeating the same repair.

Pothole Repair: common questions
Why do potholes keep coming back?
Usually because water is still getting under the pavement or the repair did not remove the wet, failed base. A cut-out repair with a compacted base and sealed edges holds up much better than a quick fill.
Can you repair potholes in winter?
Cold patch can be used as a temporary fix when asphalt plants are closed. We follow up with a permanent hot-mix repair when the weather allows.
