- Slope: About 1/8 to 1/4 in. per foot away from house
- Extras: Seat walls, steps, fire pits

What it is, and why it matters.
A paver patio extends your living space, and the details decide how it feels and how long it lasts. We plan the size around furniture and traffic, set a slight slope so water drains away from the house, build a compacted stone base and lay pavers in patterns and colors that suit your home. Borders, bands, steps and seat walls give it a custom look.
In Nashville and the surrounding cities, backyard patios are used from spring through fall, so we also plan for shade, lighting conduit and a place for the grill or fire pit. Because pavers are individual units, they can be lifted for repairs, and polymeric joint sand keeps weeds and ants down. We provide a clear design and written price before we dig.

Paver Patios: common questions
How long does a paver patio last?
A well-built paver patio commonly lasts decades. The base, edge restraints and joint sand matter most, and periodic sand refresh and sealing extend life.
Can pavers be installed over concrete?
Sometimes, if the slab is in good shape and slopes correctly, though a new stone base is usually the better long-term choice. We inspect and advise.
