Patching done to the base, not just the surface.
Cut-and-patch repairs for failed areas of asphalt, including utility cuts, sunken spots and broken edges, rebuilt with compacted base and hot-mix.
- Edges: Saw-cut and sealed
- Base: Corrected and compacted
- Asphalt: Hot-mix placed in lifts

What it is, and why it matters.
A good patch is a small, well-built pavement. We saw-cut square edges, remove the failed material, correct the base and soft subgrade, tack the edges and place hot-mix in compacted lifts, then seal the joint. That prevents the dips and edge cracks that give away a lazy patch.
Patching is common after utility work, tree roots, sinking trenches and drainage problems. In the Nashville area, we also patch edges where mowers and traffic break the asphalt down. When there are many patches in one area, we compare the cost of patching with overlay or replacement, so you pick the best value.

Asphalt Patching: common questions
How long does a patch last?
A properly cut and compacted patch can last as long as the surrounding pavement. Quick surface patches over wet or failed base fail much sooner.
When is patching not enough?
When failures cover a large share of the surface or the whole base is weak, an overlay or replacement costs less over time. We measure and advise.
