More room, matched to what you already have.
Driveway widening, extensions and added parking pads, tied into the existing pavement so seams are tight and drainage still works.
- Seam: Saw-cut edge and bonded joint
- Base: New compacted stone in the added area
- Optional: Overlay the old drive to match

What it is, and why it matters.
Extra parking, a wider turnaround or a path to the back of the lot often means adding to an existing driveway. The challenge is the joint: a poorly tied-in extension cracks along the seam and may drain toward the house. We cut the existing edge clean, build a proper base for the new section and bond the new asphalt to the old so the seam is tight.
Around Nashville many lots have tight setbacks, trees and drainage easements, so we check grades and water flow before we widen anything. The finished extension should look like it was always part of the driveway, and the whole surface can be resurfaced together for a uniform color.

Driveway Widening and Extensions: common questions
Will the new section match the old driveway?
Fresh asphalt is darker than aged pavement. Over time they blend, or we can resurface the whole driveway so everything matches at once.
Do I need a permit to widen my driveway?
Some cities limit driveway width or require a permit near the street. We check the requirements for your address and handle the paperwork where needed.
